What prefers does Japanese prefer to drink for their sushi meal?

It depends a little on whether they eat sushi on a weekday or an evening at the weekend.

As a starting point, the Japanese prefer to drink an ice-cold classic beer with their sushi. The Japanese are a beer people and they value a good beer for the food. However, it is also Japanese who prefers a cup of green tea for the food.

On weekends where the Japanese are free and have more time to sit and eat a meal for several hours. There, the Japanese will also tend to drink sake for sushi.

In Japan, the range of sake is at least as large as the selection of wines in a European supermarket. Therefore, a sushi restaurant will serve sake within various price levels which are closely aligned to the menu that is served.

Which countries produce sushi rice?

There are several countries in the world that produce sushi rice. Japan of course and China, Korea and the United States do also produce sushi rice.

There is quite a big difference between the sushi rice produced in the different countries. The rice grain itself can vary in size and, of course, it has an influence on cooking the rice.

However, I have most experience with using sushi rice which is either produced in Japan or also in the USA. Since these types of sushi rice varieties I learned to cook to perfection when I was trained for Japanese sushi chef.

Which vegetable is really good for sushi?

There are several different vegetables that are suitable to be used for sushi.

In Denmark you can get different kinds of asparagus it is a vegetable that thrives in Denmark. The asparagus season is in spring. In Copenhagen you can go to the farmers market that sells different kinds of asparagus with unique aromas and flavores.
The supermarket usual has one kind of asparagues.

Asparagus is vegetable that is perfect for sushi since you can use it in different ways.

The season in spring is quite short so I encourage you to buy different varieties of different quality and enjoy the different flavors of taste. You don’t necessarily have to make sushi. You can also steam them quite easily and eat them with a little butter and salt.

Does Japanese sushi taste very different?

Yes, it does.

Here the other day I ate sushi which was made in a Danish sushi restaurant.
The sushi tasted different because other ingredients are used. Denmark is also one of the countries where many kinds of topping are used on sushi pieces.

The sushi with topping had a less flavor than the sushi I make without topping which are normally served in Japanese restaurants.

Raw materials do have lot of flavor and taste and you should only use topping to give the dinning experience an extra dimension.

What is a classic Japanese dinner?

TokyoA classical Japanese dinner is very different from a European dinner.
The Japanese eats many small meals for dinner. A Japanese meal consists of 6-10 small dishes with seafood, rice, various vegetables and different kind of meat. Japanese dishes are very light in texture and is usually enjoyed over several hours.

Like so many others Japanese work many hours per week which means that they do not have time to cook dinner during the week.
I Tokyo you will finde a wide range of take-away stands and noodle bars which serves noodle soup of very high quality. The noodle soup is cheap and many Japanese visits a noodle bar several times during a week.

In this way Japanese still manage to eat healthy and have a varied diet.

What do a Japanese meal consist of?

In Japan they eat many small meals for dinner 6-10 dishes consisting of fish, seafood, rice, various vegetables and meat. All dishes are very light in texture and enjoyed for several hours.
In the course of an evening the Japanese eats a very balanced dinner.

The Japanese are as just as busy as any other, and they work several days and hours per week.
Like so many others, they have no time during the week to spend hours in the kitchen and cook. Therefore, there is a wide range of take-away stalls, stands and Noodle bar of very high quality at a reasonable price, which is used frequently several times a week.

In this way the Japanese manage to eat healthy and have a varied diet.
